My work and personal life are guided by an understanding that healing happens through connection and that connection is based in feeling secure, regulated and compassionate in our bodies.
I use a combination of Somatic Experiencing, Motivational Interviewing, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, DBT and mindfulness to empower clients to take charge of their lives more fully. My approach is influenced by the Health at Every Size model, Buddhism and a social justice orientation.
I specialize in the treatment of trauma and chronic illness. I offer tools to support you in coming home to the innate wisdom of your body, so that you can be fully present to enjoy what life has to offer and to meet its challenges successfully.
I also offer individual and group consultation to therapists.
I earned a Master’s Degree in Social Work from Smith College School for Social Work in 2001. Before starting a private practice in 2012 I was a program director of various programs including a transitional housing program for adolescents and young adults, an outreach program for people struggling with psychosis and addiction, and a PHP/IOP for eating disorders.
I am an adoptive parent of four, love to hike and am a an ordained priest in the Zen Peacemaker lineage.
